PlusLife was established under the name The Perth Bone & Tissue Bank (PBTB) in 1992. It is the only bone bank in Western Australia and operates from Hollywood Private Hospital Campus.
After a generous start-up grant from the Lotteries Commission, PBTB relocated to a laboratory at the Royal Perth Rehabilitation Hospital in Shenton Park. Further Lotteries Commission grants in 1998 enabled the bank to move to a refurbished premise on the Hollywood Private Hospital campus in Nedlands. In June 2013 the organisation changed its name to PlusLife. The name tells the story of exactly what the organisation strives to achieve - the pure concept of adding to people's lives and that's a plus.
In 2016, PlusLife received a $10m government grant to develop purpose built facilities to enhance the retrieval, testing, storage, processing, and transplantation of our bone and tissue graft.
The government grant allowed PlusLife to relocate to the site in Midland where they reside today.
